ABOUT ME

“I’ve had a lifelong fascination with storytelling and it’s ability to show us how we are all more connected than we might think. Opening a window into a character’s life is one of the best ways I’ve found to find community with my fellow artists and the audience.”

Carrie Pozdol grew up in Dubuque, IA, completed her BA in Theater at Simpson College in Indianola, IA, and moved to Chicago where she worked with various storefront theatre companies as an actor and sound designer. She moved back to Dubuque where she acted, directed, and participated on the board for the Dubuque Fine Arts Players, and acted with Fly-By-Night. She moved to Cedar Rapids where she acted at City Circle, University of Iowa, and Mirrorbox. In 2020, she began her training for intimacy choreography with Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE) and Intimacy Directors & Coordinators (IDC), as well as earning an Artistic Mental Health Practioner certification through The Association of Mental Health Coordinators in the first cohort. She has been seen since in roles as actor, director, intimacy choreographer at various local theatres like Theatre Cedar Rapids, Riverside, Mirrorbox, City Cicle, Dreamwell, Iowa City Community Theatre, and Mt Vernon Community Theatre. She has choreographed intimacy at Coe College, Cornell College, Kirkwood Community College, and University of Northern Iowa.
